Hridoy (Shakib Khan) is a young NRB (non-resident Bangladeshi) from USA, who returns to Bangladesh to attend his cousin Monika wedding. There, he meets one of Monika's friends, Aasha (Apu Biswas) who came from the countryside to attend the marriage. Though they initially clash, after a series of misadventures, they fall in love. Hridoy, however, is supposed to marry the spoiled daughter of his uncle's friend. When Aasha goes back home, Hridoy follows her to win her over — however, Aasha's over-protecting brother Ali is less than happy. He promises Hridoy to give his blessings for the wedding if Hridoy manages to produce more harvest than he does. Hridoy accepts the challenge and starts learning farming. However, the son of a friend of Ali is secretly in love with Aasha, and his father asks Ali for Aasha's hand in marriage with his son. Ali doesn't give his consent. With brooding jealousy, the wannabe-fiancé kidnaps Aasha after Hridoy wins the farming challenge. Hridoy chases the kidnapers and kills the wannabe-fiancé. Aasha's brother Ali will take the blame for the murder and go to jail. The couple gets married when Ali gets released from jail. The movie ends with rejoining of all family members.
